How to Mount You TV

Have you recently purchased a flat screen TV, and would like to be able to mount it on your wall yourself? TV mounting can be tricky, especially because you want to make sure that it is done correctly and that all of the cords are concealed. However, once you have a basic understanding of what it is that you need to do, the process will become simple and somewhat quick. This article will give you some tips and tricks on do-it-yourself Wall-Mount TV Installation and to ensure that it is done properly and up to code.

When performing home theatre installation, the first thing that you have to do is buy a TV wall mount kit that will hold your TV. For the cords, in order to ensure that they are up to proper code, you will also need to purchase a cable management kit. Some kits may include both. Next, you can lay the TV flat on the ground and attach the brackets. Please not that if you own a plasma screen TV, this is not recommended. You will need to have the TV standing upright when installing the brackets. Next, you will need to remove any screws that are on the back of your TV where the mount will go. These screws are in the middle and there are usually 4 of them.

Once you have removed the screws, ensure that you find the studs in your wall (if you are unsure of where they are, you can always use a stud finding tool) and bolt the bracket into said studs. You will need to then mark the studs and ensure that they are level. Take your bracket and bolt it into the wall where you had marked your studs. Once you have the bracket mounted and bolted down, you can then mount the TV. Now for the cords. Remember that you cannot just drill a hole in the wall and run the cords through. You will need a cable management kit in order to ensure that there is no risk of fire. Follow the instructions on the cord management kit to hide the cords.

Finally, mounting your TV yourself is easy once you have an idea of what you are doing. If you are uncomfortable doing it yourself, you can always hire a professional installer. If you would like to find out more, visit TV installation for more information.
